Blind date: Percy Jackson *backdated to 11/20*

With Joe's disappearance, one of the last things Sonya felt like attending was a blind date. Even if he was still here, she was still not sure about the whole thing. The last time she'd dated was when she was fifteen, and that didn't end too well either. Hell, when she was with Lance they didn't so much as date but spend time together, at best it was casual dating. The only reason she even bothered was because it was pointless for her to mope, and because...well, maybe she was being too cynical about the whole thing. It wasn't like there was anything here-besides her own stubbornness and fear of vanishing-to prevent her from starting a relationship, so what could it hurt to try.

The note said to show up at the Winchester during the evening, and to wear something green. And so, Sonya was sitting at an outside table at the Winchester a little before the sun started to set, dressed in a black, knee length skirt and dark green blouse (she figured it was nice enough for a first date, but not exactly that fancy) with her hair held back with a black headband, and waited.

If this really did turn out to be a prank, heads were going to roll.

Sonya thought a moment. That would certainly be doable.

"Sounds fair.." She paused. "What sort of movie?" She never got the chance to watch many movies.

Oh, drat! There was a fatal flaw in my plan. "Well... what sort do you like?" I was pretty sure, since we were thinking about a _not_-date, that I wouldn't want some sappy romantic comedy, but it seemed impolite to rule that out. "Uh... some action movie, maybe?"

"Action fantasy maybe," Who knew, it might be much easier to watch in a movie instead of real life. "my own job's action packed enough, don't need any 'realistic' movie to add to it."

Actually, her career was more along the lines of 'long periods of nothing followed by shots of SNAFU.'

"Oh, I think we can work something out," I said. Star Wars? No, everybody had seen Star Wars. Lord of the Rings? Maybe too much fantasy. Clash of the Titans? No, no, a thousand times no! Who had put that thought in there?

"You ever heard of 'Sneakers'?" I asked.

This wasn't going anywhere, Sonya thought.

"Never heard of it, but then I haven't really seen any movies that were made after 1982." Because military training did take up a lot of time-even more if you were aiming for the Special Forces. "And most fantasy movies at the time were cheesy B-rated ones."

I got a definite sense that it was time to stop wasting time, so I said, "Okay, if we want to show up this Cupid guy, then let's set up a movie night. Say, a week from tomorrow, in the evening? You bring your friends, I'll bring mine, and I'll see what the bookshelf has to offer. You bring the popcorn. Sound good?"

Sonya was loath to admit that a kid was better at planning than her, but in this case he did have a better idea.

"Sounds good to me." she answered, standing up. "I've a few friends I could invite." Harry would be okay with it...she wasn't sure about Jane, but she might show up to be polite...Web, she wasn't even sure about.

"Good," I said. "Sounds like a date, then. Except not." I gave her a smile. "That'll show Cupid."
