She covered his hand with hers.

"I shouldn't be that sorry. Since Joe left, and then Trisha..he's only just started becoming less of a hermit-it's better that he went back home."

She took another bite, answering him only after she finished swallowing. "That's a bit of a loaded question, but I feel.." She tried to put it into words. "Even more alone, I guess. Many of those I could call friends keep leaving, makes me feel a little small."
